The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show hasn’t even kicked off yet, but already there’s a contender for best in show. Porsche’s reveal of its stunning Mission E Concept is a show stopping, drop dead gorgeous, über-fast-charging, all-electric supercar that Porsche reckons will clock the Nürburgring in under 8 minutes, and while it might scream around the 20 odd kilometres of the Nordschleife, what this vehicle shows us very quietly is the future shape of automotive form and function.
Mission E concept is by far the cleanest design to hit the podium to date, very Porsche, but also very predictive of shapes to come. Loaded with plus numbers, 800 volt, 440kW-600hp, 0-100kmh in 3.5 seconds, a top speed of 250kmh and a range of 500km …and perhaps a cheeky nudging at the only other cool spark on the block ‘Lookout Tesla’ :: Read the full article »»»»

Droolability, a word not often enough used. Perhaps we’re jaded, perhaps we’ve just been supercarred to death. perhaps the ü has gone out of über? That is about to change. Say hello to the most droolworthy car of the year, Jaguars stunning C-X16 compact coupe hybrid concept. According to the British auto maker C-X16 “marks a new chapter for Jaguar”, featuring a new design language, a technologically advanced drive-train as well as highlighting a new way of thinking without losing any heritage. Whats most amusing about Jaguar is it seems every couple of years they shock us with just how well they can design an automobile, as if it takes us about that length of time to forget how much we love them? :: Read the full article »»»»

Due For Release at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, September 2009.
The first road-going, mid-engined Ferrari was the 250LM, produced to win Le Mans in 1965, but the 1966 Dino was really the first of the rear-engined models that have since become the most popular cars ever built by the prancing horse. Forty-three years on, Ferrari is replacing the current incarnation of the breed, its six-year-old F430, with a brand new car, the 458 Italia, which will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
