Board-track bikes are all the rage in the burbs, these two stroke café racers are just about as much fun as you can have on two wheels. Styling for these 1920s inspired cycles is super sleek, fine fitted metal work mounted to tubular framing, screaming speed and smacking a smile on the face of riders.
Legendary board-track builders, Derringer, have branched out to include an eBike: World Meet the Derringer V Heritage Series. The two-stroke has been replaced by a choice of 3 electric motors, the styling stays true :: Read the full article »»»»

Volkswagen – under the helmanship of Ferdinand Piech & apparently on behalf of his prior engagement, Audi – has snapped up Ducati Motocycles for €860 million/$US1.1 Billion, the deal was approved days ago by the Piech-chaired VW supervisory board, raising the number of VW nameplates to 12. Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Ducati, Lamborghini, SEAT, Porsche, Giugiaro, Škoda, Scania, MAN and of course VW.
Amusingly the marriage seems to have divided moto columnists. The fans of the sale seem to be bike enthusiasts, the naysayers seem to be business commentators. Piech is often portrayed as a big German kid in a toystoy, we think not, during his tenure Piech has reinvented, saved, turned-around and generally benefited more auto brands, indeed marquis, than almost any other single person, ok perhaps a little liberty there, you get the picture though :: Read the full article »»»»

At long last, the world’s largest and arguably most influential motorcycle manufacturer is getting in on the electric motorcycles show. Honda has announced it will be showing an electric supersports motobike concept at the Tokyo Motor Show next month. Fresh on the heels of the Husqvarna Concept E-go, Honda has an electric concept of its own: the Honda RC-E.
Styling draws heavily on the best period of the firm’s hallowed racing past, its lines uninterrupted by the LED projector headlight mounted in the nose intake. If this is a test of public interest in an electric Honda sportsbike, they’re pushing ALL the right buttons. Read the full article »»»»

Lycra Clad isn’t one of our favorite thoughts, we groove to vinyl, love pvc, lust after leather and definitely dig denim. The thought of lycra clad cyclist though, not good! All spruced up with kevlar uberbikes and faux sponsorship the latte sipping cycle brigade is not our bag.
So when we came across furniture maker Seth Deysach and his American Black Walnut – even the wood is sexy – cycle we had to dig deeper. It all started when Deysach was invited to be part of the Object Society design show in June 2010, Deysach decided to create something special for the bash, something that combined two of his passions, creating things in wood and cycling :: Read the full article »»»»
